As a hint to what may come in the next few months, Quackers has found himself on the globe and is planning on traveling around the world in 80 days!
Did the ducklings get the reference? No, but they still thought it was silly!

Flat Quackers
Oh that poor duck! Instead of returning him to normal... Quackers became flat! He was very hard to find in the classroom... taped oh so high above the closet... hiding from the ducklings probably!
Alice
At our school, once a month we honor everyone who has had a birthday by having birthday cake! Well, Quackers decided he was going to try birthday cake... and maybe it'll return him to normal! Alice in Wonderland appeared in the classroom, and possibly held a solution to our dilemma!
Hogs
It must be Quackers because he's still causing trouble! Legos appeared the classroom and the Hogs started to hoard them! They must have gotten into a tiff last night because this is what the kids found when they returned!
At first they were arguing about using proper English (Let go verses Leggo) then one duckling goes... "Wait, leggo my legos... GUYS. WE GOT LEGGOS."
(Other ducklings): "Really? Woohoo!"

Listening Skills
I did try to tell the beanie that chocolate was not good for ducks! Did he listen? No... Oh well. Will he ever return to normal? Stay tuned!
When the kids came in, they searched and searched for the poor hiding ducky. when they opened the cabinet door they yelled! They had no idea what happened to the poor thing!
Chocolate
On my way out the door this day, I was thinking of another antic the pesky duck could get into. Well, I was enjoying my snack and staring into the beanies eyes and realized he really wanted my chocolate pudding...
The note says:
"Don't Eat Me! Not Good For Ducks!"
The note says:
"
Flying High
Ducks Away!
Oh that pesky duck! Today he got into my desk, stole some balloons and tried to escape!
Note of warning, if you do do this... don't use cheap balloons, I broke three trying to help him escape!
MLK/Crazy Hat Day
We honored MLK today, and as a class we did a craft. We used the short poem shown above, traced our hands and glued it all together. As I was teaching about MLK it was amazing to hear how little the students knew about how far we have come in the past few years. What was more powerful was their understanding that one little child, Ruby Bridges, could change so much as well. We can teach about the adults changing the world, but to a child, that's an adult. That's someone bigger than them and that is only someone they can look up to. But when you introduce children as changing the world, well, the look in their eyes when you tell them that at their age they can do something powerful as well, just absolutely makes your day. This is why I am a teacher. Days like today.
It was also crazy hat day, and Quackers joined in! You *might* see this hat reappear...

Sledding
Oh that crazy, crazy duck!
He got into the garbage and took out all of the crepe paper that I had thrown out the night before and rolled down the board with it with the other animals!
The kids came in and said (almost in unison):
"What a Mess!"
Super Duck!
Super Duck to the rescue!
He thought he would be a hero for the day, but who doesn't want to be a hero?
Reading
"Dive" into a good book!
He moved again today and this time dropped off a present for the kids... new bookmarks!
Run For It!
I have extensive supply of rubber duckies and well, last night they escaped! Quackers had a hand, er, wing in it!
As I was walking in that morning the Janitor remarked to me, "Hey uh, did you have anything to do with all of the ducks? They, uh, escaped!"

Norman Rockwall
As I was helping Quackers find a paintbrush, it occured to me, do the kids know who Norman Rockwall?
As it turns out, no, no they don't. When the opportunity arises they will learn more about him!
And no, I did not paint the duck in the background. I'm talented, but not that talented!
Tanning
It's a little cold here in CT and Quackers is a little annoyed! He's stretched out, reading a magazine and trying to catch some 'rays' in the classroom. Think it worked?
Mustaches
Quackers mustache you a questions... but he'll shave it for later!
Today was one of my ducklings last day, she was switching schools and Quackers said goodbye to her. I'm sure she'll have lots of fun in her new duckless classroom!
Best of luck little duckling!
Welcome
Welcome to the classroom Quackers!
I started my classroom in December and the Elf on the Shelf was just about done. Not to be outdone by the Elf on the Shelf I introduced Q. T. Duck, otherwise known as Quackers, to my classroom!
I hope that I can continue with the fun in the classroom!
Today's adventures included a new game called Leapfrog that Quackers brought for the kids! It was just a $1 Dollar store find that the kids could use during recess! I also have a 'Brain Break' time carved out twice a week, and the kids can play leapfrog as one of the activities!
